Safety Net is a community outreach project designed to get people talking about safer sex and the importance of HIV testing.
We know that friends can influence the decisions that we make. That includes the choice to use condoms in order to avoid getting HIV and STDs. That’s why it can make a huge difference to our health if our friends talk about safer sex in a positive, supportive way.
Safety Net team members are volunteers who are fun, sex-positive, caring people just like you. Once or twice a month they send little HIV prevention and safer sex messages to their friends and social circles. The messages are shared through text message, e-mail, Myspace, Facebook, or Twitter.
Be a part of our team: Get started today and you can be a volunteer to help keep your friends safe... not to mention, you can win fabulous prizes!
Just email Jamie, the Safety Net team captain, at JamieB@hglhc.org or text "SAFETY NET" to 860-268-3777. You can also find the Safety Net group on Facebook.
